Well here we go Christmas Joy
I have two festive drinks for the Christmas Season and one Just a Simple Drink.
The drinks are:
1.Hot Buttered Rum
This is a two part recipe:
Part one: In a double boiler-- put one box of Brown sugar (Light or Dark or even Powdered), one pound of unsalted butter, one pint of vanilla ice cream. Bring the water in the double boiler to a low boil, and stir the ingredients lightly. When the whole mess is all melted and mixed together take it off the heat put the batter into a container. (Something that you can stick in the freezer, you know the disposable Glad box thingies with the blue lids) Put the batter in the freezer for use later.
Part two: Put one tablespoon or more in a heatproof drinking cup, add a stick of cinnamon, add a jigger of Rum and a part of boiling water. * (Fill the coffee cup with hot water and rum add enough batter to satisfy yourself.)
2;Egg Nog
This will make enough Egg Nog to feed either two amorous people or ten friends. Separate 4 to 6 eggs. Put the eggs in a small glass or ceramic bowl, add a jigger of 151 rum for each two egg yolks, stir briskly with a fork ot small whip. Place the egg whites in a copper bowl and whip to a stiff foam. Mix the yolks that are now the consistency of mayonnaise into the egg whites, add one pint of milk for four eggs and 1 and a ½ pint for six eggs--either whole 6 % milk or half & half. Serve very cold with a minor correction** of good Cognac in old fashion glass ware. Top with nutmeg.
3: Holy Jesus (It is JC’s Birthday)
This is just a simple drink, Dirink two of these in any ten minute interval and you will know why it is called a “Holy Jesus!”
Concord Grape Juice (one part*)
Vodka (one half part*)
Crushed Ice (one quarter part*)
* Part is usually considered to be something more than a mouthful and less than a cup
** “Correction” is usually more than a jigger, but less than a mouthful. See part above usually considered to be at least a mouthful
